Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Broke Up With

Top Ten is an original feature/weekly meme created here at Broke and the Bookish and featured at
The Artsy Reader Girl that features a great bookish top ten every week.

This week's Top Ten is Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested In Reading. So here is a list of books we have broken up with.

Ash:
Most of these are books from when I was like.. 15. And wow, my tastes have changed. A couple are from series I have zero desire to finish.

Jenn:
These I have had on my TBR usually from discovering them on Netgalley or Edelweiss and added them before really reading about them. After research and thinking, I decided that I didn't want to really read them. Either from multiple reviews of my friends or it just no longer interests me.

What books do you no longer have a relationship with?

  1. I really struggled with this topic because I generally pick books I want to read! I did read This Lullaby many many many many years ago when I had nowhere near enough paranormal books to read. I can't say if it's really worth reading or not since I left contemporary behind eons ago! Though I can honestly say you're wise to pass on The Devils You Know. I was so close to DNFing that one but ended up skimming the rest and I really really disliked it. The first book I disliked in a loooooong time!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

  2. I went through a cozy mystery phase awhile back and haven't been back to those. I also have no desire to read Fifty Shades, Twilight or HP. I don't know why, maybe I've just heard so much about them, I don't think I need to bother reading them.

  3. Well, I haven't read any of the books above. Not so surprising since I don't read all that many YA books. I think that it's perfectly fine to decide that certain books are not for you or maybe not for you at this particular time. It's all good and there are so many more!

  4. I haven't read any of the books listed above either. I read a lot of YA books, so that was a little surprising! It's too bad that they no longer appeal to either of you.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

  6. Okay-- the Courtney Summers book is a YES!! Just saying, she's amazing. And I loved 16 Ways to Break a Heart. It was super short, but really dark and addicting. This Darkness Mine is one I'd defintiely say PASS. It was really really weird and gross, and OMG WEIRD!!!

  8. I've heard a lot of people break up with Graceling over the years. And I wanted to read Gork but after a few negative reviews of friends I made a hard pass on that one.
