The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
I will be joining the Bout of Books Read-a-Thon for the second time. I love read-a-thons. I read everyday so why not stretch my limits just a bit and try to win some prizes and get to know fellow bloggers better, maybe even see some new books out there. I am hoping to get through quite a bit of books both audio and reading. My goals: Reading time: 6-7 Hours Audio and 3-4 Hours Reading daily. Come join the fun, sign ups are open!
I am so excited. I particpated in this read-a-thon for the first time last October and had a whole lot of fun. I am totally stoked to participate again and I am so ready. The read-a-thon actually starts tomorrow April 27th at 7am CST. I will be getting up,getting coffee, and get started. I hope to get through some serious reading this time and of course some serious snacking. Here are my reading and snacking plans...
Books to read....
I have already started The Archived and Why Love Life Sucks... I won't be able to finish them all but hoping to make a great big ole dent.
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I live in Texas.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
Oh that is a hard one. I started Why My Love Life Sucks before the read-a-thon and was already loving it so I am excited to read more of it. I am also really excited for Deer in Headlights.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Sprees! oh and lots of coffee!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
The most exciting thing in my life right now is I have a grandson coming. He is due in August and I am really excited.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
I hope I get distracted less. I really had fun last year but I didn't read as much as I wanted because all the posts and games distracted me. I also really really hope to stay up all night this year. More coffee needed for sure.
In the book Why My Love Life Sucks by Shevy Arnold : The vampires go to a pizza parlor and eat pizza and ice cream so my menu is quite simple....
My favorite pizza- Hawaiian with Extra Cheese
My Favotire Ice Cream (at the moment) Jamocha Heath As for the Drink: Vampire Love Potion: mix a bit of Red Wine with some cranberry juice and a tad bit of Sprite. Theme Song: Love Bites by Def Leppard
On my first Diet Coke Gonna try to finish this book in the next 2 hours and move on. I am really enjoying this book. My eyes just want to keep closing. I may go outside to read for a bit. Hour 4 challenge: Retitle Your Current Book
I renamed my book
Pretty Girl = Stupid Boy
The reason: The only reason the main character is in the mess he is in .... pretty girl talks to him, holds his hand, kisses him, he turns stupid and gets bit.
I am not sure why I love this cover so much but I do! I love the simple artwork and the clean look. I also think the cover art goes very well with the title.
Least favorite Cover:
I really don't like the backpack in the picture. I know it makes sense but I don't like the way it looks. Thats really about it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hour 8 Update: Page 139/321
Hour 9 update: Fell behind on reading due to hour 8 challenge and other distractions 160/321 of Hour 9 challenge: Recharge Yoga Challenge My hubby was nice enough to do this challenge with me. I wish I would have had some experience with the poses, it wasn't as good as it could have been when I had to keep reading for the next pose, but it did recharge me. We attempted every pose and we had some great laughs during. My do was really confused. she kept trying to lick our face and bring us her toys. She thought we were inviting her to play. The break was about 15 minutes. We aren't too good at them but it was fun. I had my son take a a picture of the pose we were best at. Corpse Pose
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hour 10 and 11 update. 200/321 pages of and 36% done Hour 11 Picture It Challenge. I took a picture of my reading spot and my hubby's reading spot (with him reading)

Warm Pastries: A love story between a girl a boy, a girl, and cookbook. While learning to to bake warm pastries their hears will also warm to the idea of love. Recipes include Apple Dumplings, Strawberry Shortcake and Lemon Puffs.
Hour 14 mini challenge Share a Quote Quote from Why My Love Life Sucks "Some things we can't just fix. Or Understand. Some things we just have to accept, and maybe one day, if we're lucky, we'll figure them out." Hour 15 Mini challenge : Casting Couch
For the book Why My Love life Sucks I would cast Josh Hutchinson for the main character Gil. A hot geeky character! The boy next door meets the school science nerd. I really think that Josh Hutchinson has that look down to the tee. He is so freaking adorable.

I couldn't make it after Hour 19. Better than last time and hopefully next time will be the entire 24 hours. I was able to get some good reading done and had a lot of fun with the mini challenges. Altogether I read a little over 600 pages, and I completed two books. I was very happy with the outcome.
