This game is beautiful, fun , and very strategic. We have had this since Christmas and we have played it more than a handful of times. We have played it with many friends at different times and it's always a hit. Once played, everyone wants to immediately play it again. This is a easy game to learn. The mechanics are very simple.... roll the dice, draft a dice, place a dice on your stain glass window frame.... the actual play is difficult... the strategy is difficult but so much fun.

One thing I love about this game is the strategy. There are many angles on which way you can choose to get your points (most points in the end win) There are private objective cards and public objective cards. The difficulty comes in with all the restrictions the game gives you. Same color dice can't be adjacent, same number can't be adjacent, placement of dice has to start on the perimeter and then each following dice has to be placed touching a previous placed dice. Oh and the card you choose to use as your window pattern has three types of placement requirements, color, number, and wild. So you have to be careful where you place the dice and also think ahead when placing the dice. It's so much fun.

This game works well with any number of players. Of course the more players you add the longer the game takes but it works will with any number. You can even play it solo.. Which I have (6 times ) and lost every time. I don't play this game to win. I am not very good at it. I do play it over and over because of the enjoyment I get when I play. One of my favorite games for sure.

The last time we played, we played with the expansion. This brought in a new concept of a personal die pool and I had better luck with this. I actually one for the first time... YAY!!!!!

What Michael Thought:

This is a very interesting game that at first glace doesn't look that difficult. And it is pretty easy to pick up and play. One player rolls the dice and they pick a dice and places it in their window. The next person picks a dice and places in their window. And whoever is the last person has to pick 2 dice and then it snakes back to first person like a draft. But how you place dice becomes pretty tricky. First you have to start on outside edge and then the next dice you pick has to be next to it either diagonally, horizontally, or vertically. And there is a restrictions of what dice you can place where depending on the window you chose. If it has a number you have to place that number there, if it is a color you have to place a color there. And there is one more restriction to placing dice, you can't place a color next to a color or the same number next to each either vertically or diagonal. So it gets very tricky and you have to think ahead and be strategic.

I really enjoy the simplicity of learning it, but the strategic placing of dice makes the game challenging and different each time you play. We have played it with some other people and they have really enjoyed it. And some window restrictions are harder than others so you can start off with less restrictions and work your way up to play the more challenging restrictions in game play.
