Rylie has it all - great friends, dream boy, loving family. But on the eve of her sixteenth birthday, her perfect little world shatters. A stranger claiming to be her real mother appears with a secret: Rylie is a faery whose powers will be unleashed on her birthday. Captured and forced into a new life, Rylie struggles to keep everything she loves and discovers a terrifying truth: some promises cannot be broken.

I have been wanting to read this book for quite a while, the cover grabbed me, the synopsis interested me, so I grabbed the chance to be on the tour. I love faery books and I really enjoyed this story, this romance, these characters.

Rylie has a great life, great parents, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend she just adores. She is coming up on her 16th birthday and its supposed to be a smash.  She really couldn't ask for more. Everything changes for Rylie when a stranger shows up at her door claiming to be her birth mother, and a faery one at that. This rocks Rylie's world. She is told by her birth mother, her transistion will be complete on her 16th birthday. She is in real danger, she is special and the dark faeries want her. Of course she doesn't listen and she is kidnapped and held prisoner, being forced to marry a the dark prince, Kallan, who she does not love. Now she must fight stronger and longer than she has ever needed to in order to stay apart of her world, her family, and her friends.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved it from the first page to the last page. It was a very fast paced read and every moment held me captive. I loved the characters, I love the story, I just loved it. It is far most a romance.  A romance between two people, polar opposite, determined to hate each other.  A love triangle yes... but I didn't seem to mind.

Rylie is a strong character for the most part. At the very beginning I loved her. She seems to be a level headed girl and she loves her life. Once her birth mother entered the picture and she fully transitioned, she was stubborn, whiny, and honestly a bit dumb... don't worry, it didn't last long. Once she is captured she is still a bit whiny but a bit understandable. When she realizes she isn't going anywhere, I really liked her. She starts hanging out with Kallan and their friendship begins and I like her, she is back to the level headed, pretty much happy (except for the part of being held against her will) but no more whiny.

I really like Kallan. He is supposed to be the bad guy, he's on the wrong side of faeryland, but I just fell for him. At first he does play the part of dark, but once he starts to spend time with Rylie and I got to know him more... I just couldn't help it. I adored him. He has a bit of a sweet side, a romantic side, and he doesn't want to be forced into marriage anymore than Rylie does.  I really liked the two together.

The setting in the world of faeries is beautiful, the romance is very sweet, the writing style is easy, flows well,  the story is exciting, and I want more.

Simple... I need the next book please. If you like faery books or romance books check this one out. I am sure you will like it.

Talia JagerMy name is Talia Jager and I am an author. My passion is to write young adult books. I have been writing... well, forever. I can't remember a time when I wasn't carrying around a notebook or thinking up stories in my head.
I distinctly remember in high school hiding my writing notebook under my class work and writing during class - teacher thought I was taking notes. And at night, when I was supposed to be sleeping, I'd be hiding under the covers with a notebook, pen, and flashlight.

Now, as an adult, I have a laptop that I do most of my writing on. However, I do have a notebook in the car, and another in my bedroom, just in case I come up with a great story idea when I'm not in front of the computer.

Besides writing, I love to read. Getting lost in another world is an awesome feeling. I also like to play games (both video and board), scrapbook, rollerblade, and travel. Most of all I love to spend time with my family. I am happily married to a wonderful man who supports my writing. We have six beautiful children who bring me happiness every day.
