Gabie drives a Mini Cooper. She also works part time as a delivery girl at Pete’s Pizza. One night, Kayla—another delivery girl—goes missing. To her horror, Gabie learns that the supposed kidnapper had asked if the girl in the Mini Cooper was working that night. Gabie can’t move beyond the fact that Kayla’s fate was really meant for her, and she becomes obsessed with finding Kayla. She teams up with Drew, who also works at Pete’s. Together, they set out to prove that Kayla isn’t dead—and to find her before she is.

The Night She Disappeared is a mystery thriller about 17 year old Kayla, who is a pizza delivery driver, getting kidnapped, and about her coworkers trying to find her.
What made me pick this book up:
April Henry. That is all.

What did I like about the cover:
Because this is about a pizza delivery girl who gets kidnapped, I think the cover is great in showing that. I love when book covers match what the book is about, or represent the book well.

What made me read this book:
It's April Henry, but also I like mystery thrillers and this book screamed edge of your seat.

What did I like the most:
First of all, the story. The idea of a girl going to deliver a pizza and being kidnapped? Terrifying. I don't know why I haven't heard of more books about it. The characters are well developed and likable. It was well written. It made me feel, it made me cringe, it made me want more.

What didn't I like:
There is one really sad part, that was really hard to get through. But I won't spoil it for you.

Would I read the rest of the series/more from this author?
Yesss!!!!

Another great April Henry book. I think this is my least favorite, though I still loved it. The characters were great, story was great, and it was thrilling and exciting.

I write mysteries and thrillers. I live in Portland, Oregon with my family.
If you've read one of my books, I would love to hear from you. Hearing from readers makes me eager to keep writing.
When I was 12, I sent a short story about a six-foot tall frog who loved peanut butter to Roald Dahl, the author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He liked it so much he arranged to have it published in an international children's magazine.
My dream of writing went dormant until I was in my 30s, working at a corporate job, and started writing books on the side. Those first few years are now thankfully a blur. Now I'm very lucky to make a living doing what I love. I have written 20 novels for adults and teens, with more on the way. My books have gotten starred reviews, been picked for Booksense, translated into six languages, been named to state reading lists, and won the Oregon Book Award.

Wee Reads: Super Manny Stands Up Kelly DiPucchio

Ever since Finn was born, and even before then, we would read to him. We wanted to show him reading from an early age. Now he loves us to read the same books, over, and over, and over. But it is the sweetest thing, when he likes to pick out a book and climb into our laps.

What Finn Reads....
Super Manny Stands Up!Super Manny Stands Up by Kelly DiPucchio

New York Times bestselling author Kelly DiPucchio and illustrator Stephanie Graegin bring a lionhearted new hero to life in this tender, sparkling story about standing up for what’s right—and finding your inner superpowers.
Every day after school, Manny saves the world from formidable foes.
I AM FEARLESS!
I AM STRONG!
I AM BRAVE!
I AM POWERFUL!
I AM INVINCIBLE!
Zombie bears, evil cloud monsters, and alien robots with laser beam eyes are no match for Super Manny. But when Manny encounters a real-life nemesis in the school cafeteria, will he be able to summon his superhero strength to save the day?

What Finn Thinks...

Do you like this book?
Yeah because I like Superman because he flies. I love superheroes. Can we turn this book into a robot?

What's your favorite part of the book?
I really liked the Alien Robots with the laser beam eyes! They were cool. And the zooooombie bears were scary! I really loved when super manny fought the bad guys! It made me feel sad when he was picking on the hedgehog. It's not nice to be mean to people. Super manny was nice when he told the bad guy to stop!

What do you think of the cover?
I like it. All of it is silly. The raccoon is wearing a cape and a shirt, but not pants and that is just so silly. Why doesn't he wear pants?!

Do you want me to read it again?
Yeah the next day

What Momma Thinks...

This is a great book that shows how people can stand up for others. It shows how to be brave and help others. The art is cute and I loved the "bad guys" that manny was fighting.
