Cover up: Mellow With Yellow

This feature I will just gab, remark, feature book covers.

For this Cover Up we will be featuring our favorite children's picture books, with primarily yellow covers.

My Monster Farts
My Monster Farts by Kate Clary

Zach has a pet monster called Lenny. No one else can see or hear him.
He loves Lenny but there is one big problem. Lenny loves to fart! He farts at home and at school and everyone thinks that it’s Zach.
Zach is tired of getting in trouble because of Lenny’s farting.
What will Zach do?

The Heart and the Bottle
The Heart and The Bottle by Oliver Jeffers

Once there was a girl whose life was filled with all the wonder of the world around her. Then one day something occurred that caused the girl to take her heart and put it in a safe place.
However, after that it seemed that more things were empty than before. Would she know when and how to get her heart back?

The Happy Day
The Happy Day by Ruth Krauss

The woodland animals awake from their deep winter's sleep to discover the first sign of spring'a flower blooming in the snow.

Piggies
Piggies by Audrey and Don Wood

Children will delight in the antics of ten marvelous little piggies who romp from fingers to toes in this original bedtime fantasy. Don Wood’s oil paintings explode with mirth and magic and will engage all young readers.

Tales from Outer Suburbia
Tales from Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan

Breathtakingly illustrated and hauntingly written, Tales from Outer Suburbia is by turns hilarious and poignant, perceptive and goofy. Through a series of captivating and sophisticated illustrated stories, Tan explores the precious strangeness of our existence. He gives us a portrait of modern suburban existence filtered through a wickedly Monty Pythonesque lens. Whether it’s discovering that the world really does stop at the end of the city’s map book, or a family’s lesson in tolerance through an alien cultural exchange student, Tan’s deft, sweet social satire brings us face-to-face with the humor and absurdity of modern life
