Imaginary Girls

A beautiful and chilling story for fans of Lauren Oliver and Lisa McMann
Chloe's older sister, Ruby, is the girl everyone looks to and longs for, who can't be contained or caged. When a night with Ruby's friends goes horribly wrong and Chloe discovers the body of her classmate London Hayes left floating in the reservoir, Chloe is sent away from town and away from Ruby. But Ruby will do anything to get her sister back, and when Chloe returns to town two years later, deadly surprises await. As Chloe flirts with the truth that Ruby has deeply hidden away, the fragile line between life and death is redrawn by the complex bonds of sisterhood.

I loved this book, very mysterious, creepy, and psychologically intense. Great for Halloween!

  2. That's a good question. I love ghost stories and I grew up in a haunted house. I liked Anna Dressed in Blood and Girl of Nightmares and Hereafter was really good too. These are the ones I read this year so far.

  4. Thank you so much for being a part of Something Wicked! I am adding your link to my FB page. I have heard some great things about this one and it has been awhile since I read a good chilling ghost story. The last was Anna Dressed in Blood. I have a good ghost story on my blog tomorrow, not scary but I loved it! I can't pick a favorite!

  7. Definitely the Haunting of Hill House - Shirley Jackson, and
I think it's been made into a movie at least twice! :)
She also wrote 'We Have Always Lived in the Castle', which isn't a true ghost story, but still a wonderfully creepy read~
