A: My favorite mom from fiction in books is Maggie, Clara's mom Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. In most YA books, moms aren't in the picture or at least they are not involved. I was really happy to see a very involved, lovable, understanding, and patient mother role in a YA book. She was just wonderful. In T.V. fiction... I would go with Clair Huxtable. She just rocked. She always new the right thing to do and she kept Cliff in line, which admit that had to be hard to do. I don't have any memorable ones from movies right now. I am sure are some, just not in my head.
Now my favorite mother in non-fiction... is of course my mother. She rocks! She is the very best ever. She is very patient, intelligent, wise, loving, she is my rock for sure and I love her.
Whose your favorite fiction mother?
I've never read Cynthia Hand's books! But I have seen Clara's mom pop up quite a bit in this week's posts! :D

Yep, Clara's mom is great! I loved how involved she was! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI read the first two books in that series on Netgalley and when book 3 didn't appear I just fell out of it. Plus poor memory and having to wait longer doesn't always help! But I do recall Clara's mom being very involved and I liked that since as you said in YA parents tend to be absent or just poor parents.
