The tale of the Evolutionary War resumes in Væmpires: Zombie Rising.
Væmpires have taken control of twelve major cities. Their leader, Vielyn, seeks the atomic weapons that will bring the rest of the world to its knees.
Vampire forces are reeling. As Linq and Ray race to the royal estate to rendezvous with Cassandra and Daniel, the princess is captured and Daniel falls.
With the fate of world shifting to their teenage shoulders, Linq and Ray must deal with tremendous losses while battling a most unexpected—and undeadly—new foe.

I had to read it right away, needed more story. I really enjoyed Zombie Rising. The story picks up towards the end of Revolution but from another point of view. Zombie Rising is just as dark, but the new characters make it a bit lighter, at least gives it a few laughs in between the blood and guts. It was a nice, not needed but still nice, change.
The story picks up from a couple of chapters before the end of Revolution. The story is told from Daniel's friends Linq and Ray as the head out to help Daniel save Cassie. The two run into many vaempires and a lot of trouble along the way. They are trained to fight but unlike Daniel, the prefer the technical side of things. They do what they must to get to Daniel and Cassie not knowing what to expect once they reach the palace.
Another great part of the story. I really love how all the books really read as one book. They fit together so nicely. The same action filled, page turning, adventure but with new characters as we continue the war.
I absolutely adored Linq and Ray. I love the interactions between the two, their conversations, their banter, quite entertaining. I was surprised with the amount of giggles I had throughout the book. The two have lost everything in the invasion, their homes, their family, and now their friends are missing. They have been trained to fight but don't really enjoy fighting but they head off knowing the dangers because of their loyalty and their love for their friends.
This was another very fast paced book. I was quite surprised when I reached the end. I didn't know I had read through it so quickly. Same great world, same dark evil, new awesome characters.
I am still loving this series. The only complaint I have, I don't have another book and I still don't have a conclusion! ARGH! Do need now!

Thank you so much for the awesome reviews, Jenn Renee!
