Today we have our first royal guest. Princess Ozma of Oz has agreed to join us today to discuss gnomes.
Me: Welcome your majesty it is so great you could come here today.
Ozma: Is this Kansas, Dorothy has told me a lot about her home Kansas. But I have never seen it.
Me: No this is Texas. We're in the same country as Kansas, but we are further south.
Ozma: It is very hot here. Is it this hot in Kansas as well.
Me: Texas is warmer than Kansas typically. But both can hit over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ozma: I am not sure what that means, but it is rather unpleasant weather here.
Me: Well it is August and we have very hot weather. You should come back in October that is when our weather is quite nice.
Ozma: Sorry you may proceed with your questions.
Me: You have experience with gnomes. Are they really short and look like rocks?
Ozma: Fairly short but they are taller than the munchkins. You are correct that they are made of stone.
Me: What are they like?
Ozma: Absolutely horrendous creatures I despise them especially the Gnome king and what he did to my people.
Me: What did he do?
Ozma: He turned all my people into purple ornaments.
Me: Did you say ornaments like Christmas ornaments?
Ozma: More like vases and decorations than ornaments that you hang on those trees like you do. He also destroyed Emerald City.
Me: That's awful.
Ozma: Yes, it was very dreadful.
Me: So do gnomes have magic?
Ozma: Yes, that is how he transformed my people into ornaments and then I even became a vase. It was very cumbersome and odd because I was not able to speak or to move.
Me: So how did you get out of that?
Ozma: Luckily Dorothy was able to use eggs to help us in our escape.
Me: Eggs?
Ozma: Oh, yes eggs, gnomes fear eggs. Didn't you know? They think that it is like poison and will cause their destruction.
Me: I was not aware of that. Well thank you for your time.

ReplyDeleteI've always thought gnomes were creepy, and the newest Goosebumps movie doesn't help, haha. I thought this was cute, though! :)

Thanks! Gnomes are definitely a lot more evil than I thought after doing some research. Surprised they aren't in horror films. I guess because they aren't very intimidating!
