Teaser: Why was I so happy? My friend was dead. I should be sad. Was I happy she was dead.? Did I have something to do with it? Did I do it myself? I did it. I had to. Maybe he did it too. Together. A pact. A game.
Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
Paradise quickly gets gruesome in this thrilling page-turner with a plot that’s ripped from the headlines and a twist that defies the imagination.
It’s Spring Break of senior year. Anna, her boyfriend Tate, her best friend Elise, and a few other close friends are off to a debaucherous trip to Aruba that promises to be the time of their lives.
But when Elise is found brutally murdered, Anna finds herself trapped in a country not her own, fighting against vile and contemptuous accusations. As Anna sets out to find her friend’s killer, she discovers harsh revelations about her friendships, the slippery nature of truth, and the ache of young love.
Awaiting the judge’s decree, it becomes clear to Anna that everyone around her thinks she is not only guilty, but also dangerous. And when the whole story comes out, reality is more shocking than anyone ever imagined..
Top Ten is an original feature/weekly meme created here at
The Broke and the Bookish that features a great bookish top ten every week.
This week is about those beloved books that are turned into moves... the worst or the best or both....
I tend to keep my books seperate from the movie adaptations. I find I enjoy them both much more if I try to not compare in any way. Of course it's not always easy to do sooo here is my list some of my favorites and some of my worst.
My Favorite Movie Adaptations:

Teaser Tuesdays
I am so with you on the Sisterhood of Travelling Pants. I was never in love with the book, I have to admit, but the screen adaptation really didn't do it for me either. I loved The Hobbit and will have to check out Warm Bodies. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games made it to my list of the best adaptations as well.

ReplyDeleteI liked The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants! The book was kind of boring though.

I am with you about trying not to compare the movies with their books. It usually end sin disappointment, and they are both different ways of telling stories. Harry Potter is a favorite that's for sure. I like Twilight, too. They aren't perfect movies, but they are enjoyable and that's what is important.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting teaser :D! I had to add it to my TBR pile. Thanks for sharing.

A menacing sounding quote.
ReplyDeleteThat was a really interesting list. I totally agree that The Hunger Games is a brilliant book to film adaptation. I haven't read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but I have watched parts of the film and enjoyed what I saw - so, if you don't mind me asking, what was wrong with the film for you?
ReplyDeleteIt just didn't match the book. It wasnt a bad movie. I just didn't like the book to film adaptation. The second one was really changed to incorperate the last 3 books. Didn't like that at all.
DeleteEragon should be on the bad movie list. Horrible movie.
