Torn between two realities.
College sophomore, Lila Spencer lived Friday night twice. She doesn’t know how or why, just that she did. As if she split in half and went in two different directions.
Out clubbing with her friends, Heather and Nilah, the girls rock it out and party hard. What begins as an innocent night will lead to a deadly fight for their lives, and Lila might be their only chance for survival.
In bed with her boyfriend, Jay, Lila is safe and warm as she drifts to sleep in the arms of the man she loves. Until she is sucked into a horrifying nightmare of her friends’ deaths.
A choice that will mean life or death.
She won’t know anything… until she wakes up.

As the sunlight warms her face on Saturday morning, the two scenarios collide. But there can be only one outcome. Will she wake up in her warm bed with Jay by her side, devastated and grieving for her friends? Or was she there to save them?
The answer is just the beginning.
This book grabbed me right away. The title and cover really didn't do it for me but the summary piqued my interest. I decided to give it a chance. I loved it. It was a very well written, exciting, fast paced book. The story was awesome, the main character I just loved, and it was a very wild ride.
Lila and her 3 best friends dorm together at a small college in a small town. Lila's boyfriend of 3 years, Jay, goes to school in Chicago. This particular weekend in her sophmore year, Jay is coming to pick the girls up and drive them home for a visit, and its also one of her best friend's birthday. She must make the decision to spend the night her best friends clubbing and celebrating, or spend the night with her boyfriend who she hasn't seen for 3 weeks. In her mind she makes answers with a yes to each and that is when her world splits. She sees herself staying in with Jay and also going out with her friends. In both worlds the same night follows through and in one world her best friends die, in the other world she saves her friends, but she has a very traumatic night. She wakes up the next morning and has the chance to do the day over again.
I really liked this book. The beginning was very well written and very suspenseful. I couldn't put the book down. The author did a superb job on writing a very thrilling story. I felt I was in the story right along with Lila and it was great, and scary. The second part of the book took a bit of turn but it fit for the story. It was a bit slower but still just as intense.
The characters were pretty cool in this book. The main character, Lila, really kicked butt in the beginning. She was fearless with a very strong loyalty to her friends. This loyalty is what kept her going. She feared for their lives and didn't give up. She had a very strong fight in her. After all said and done, the next morning came and everyone was untouched and alive, Lila still didn't give up. She knew her friends would be safe now if they didn't go down the same trail as the night before, but she felt it was up to her to take the evil down. She needed to save other girls and she knew she was their only chance now. I liked this about her. She could have left it to play out for other girls, but she just couldn't. She does make some rash decisions and isn't the brightest at times but I liked her.
The story was definitely unique and that was the best part for me. I loved the thrilling beginning and the intensity of the complete story. It's been a while since I felt so involved in something so extreme. The characters, the plot, the story was all amazing for me.

This book is definitely different than anything out there right now and I thought it was amazing. If you like psychological thrillers with a touch of sci fi, check this book out!
At twelve, Megan decided to write a novel. A month later, she quit. A reading junkie by nature, she started writing again in her twenties as a way to get the voices out, because who wouldn't want to create a Real Living Person out of thin air? Megan also plays the piano and sings. She teaches little kids and takes pictures of pretty butterflies. She eats way too much chocolate, is sort of a mad scientist with her blender, and spends an unhealthy amount of time LOLing on Facebook and Twitter. She lives in Ohio with her husband and very smiley son. Bitter Angel is her first published novel.
