Goodreads Summary:
Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king. .
Review:
This was the last book of the series and the read was bittersweet for me. I have enjoyed this series immensely but I am happy to have closure too. I loved the last book !
The story picks up where Entice left off. Zara is a pixie, Astley is still in her life, and Nick is not happy about either. After Entice, I became an Astley fan and in this book he shines even brighter for me. Astley is very loving for a pixie, very protective, and a great king. It’s natural for Zara and his pixies to matter but he seems to care about the humans too. I am so happy that this series allowed for some pixie goodness instead of just pixie evil.
Zara is still Zara, but she comes a long way from that girl we met in Need, she is beginning to embrace her inner pixie and warming up to the idea of being Astley’s queen. She now struggles with her growing feelings for Astley and the idea of salvaging her relationship with Nick. Nick isn’t making it easy for her and I am very disappointed at Nick for not giving Zara the pixie a chance. Can’t we all just get along?
So as you can see there is lots of relationship drama in this book but it’s just a tiny problem compared to the war that is brewing between pixie courts and the danger it has to humans. More kids have been killed and the town is freaking out. Zara puts her relationships on the backburner so that she can prepare her pixies, her friends and her town for battle. Now Zara, Nick, Astley and the entire gang have to work together to make sure the pixie evil does not win over the pixie goodness.
I really enjoyed this book. It took off right away and exploded into action, drama, and love! I was really happy with the ending and feel completely fulfilled by the series. Looking back I think that the story unfolded at a great pace and did a great job of mixing together mythology and pixies to create a wonderful story.
