Meena has a secret guarded closely by her family—a secret as dangerous as the sea, and buried just as deep. When court appointed community service workers are assigned to Flukes, the family-owned animal sanctuary, everyone is on high alert. It doesn’t help that Meena finds herself attracted to sexy-as-sin Blake Weathering, one of the new workers. If he wasn’t so distracting, she might be able to land Flukes a much-needed cruise line contract.

Blake Weathering, the first in his family to attend public school, has developed a tough image. Unfortunately it lands him in trouble. Now banned from his high school graduation ceremony, getting his diploma is dependent upon a community service gig cleaning fish crap. No diploma, no trust fund fortune—and no way to escape his overbearing father. The last thing he needs is the distraction of a mysterious girl with teal eyes who pulls at his heart strings.

When Blake discovers Meena’s secret, they are both thrown into a desperate search for information about her past. Two worlds pull them in opposite directions, and they will have to fight to hold onto all that really matters.

I was very excited to read this book. I have been trying out a lot of New Adult books lately and I love mermaid books so I gave this one a try. I loved the book. It was a wonderfully entertaining, romantic, fun read. It was a bit gushy at times, and yes the romance is hard and fast, but hey I live in a fantasy world.

Meena is a mermaid. She was found by her adoptive parents when she was about a year old when a hurricane came through and they found her mother dead in a net, really sad. The human parents chose to raise Meena on a secluded island where they run a place called Flukes, an animal sanctuary, where dolphins are a mermaid's best friend.

Her father allows teenagers in need of community service to work at Flukes every summer, Blake enters. A bad boy on the outside but not on the inside, hot and a bit mouthy. So the love story begins and Meena discovers love and family history.

It was a sweet and sometimes steamy read.  A bit more steamy then I was used too but I got over it. Sometimes I pretend I am actually an adult. I really liked the story, the mermaid lore, the love story, the dolphins, and the family love. Lots of good stuff!

I liked Meena a lot. She was sheltered, for good reason. She understood as much as she could of the world she lived in, but she never leaves the island for safety reasons and she does the best can. Her parents have done a pretty good job with the circumstances and they raised her to be a solid woman, but she is still naive at times. She has a sweet nature but she can be quite snarky, and I love snarky. She was a tough girl for living a secluded life and didn't simply sit back and take crap from others . I loved this about her.
Blake is yum. He is eye candy but has a sweet soul too. He is a lot tougher on the outside then he is on the inside, but he knows when to let the tough guy out. I really did fall in love with Blake.

I absolutely loved that there were dolphins in the story. They brought in cute and fluffy, and yes I love cute and fluffy. My favorite character, Mitch the dolphin. I wish I had a dolphin for a brother!

The book was very past faced and hard to put down. The writing was good, the plot was good, the characters amazing, and the romance sweet.

I loved it and would read more if there was more. If you like sweet romance with some steamy scenes and don't mind soul-mates or insta-love then this is a great book to pick up.  You will enjoy it.

Nichole Chase is a daydreamer. No, really, just ask any of the math teachers that had the misfortune of seeing her name appear on their class schedule. For years she has had story lines and characters begging for attention, but she resolutely pushed them aside to focus on more normal (read, boring) jobs. Well, no longer! She is currently heeding the voices in her head and frantically writing their stories. Nichole resides in South Georgia with her husband, energetic toddler, super hero dog, Sulcata tortoise, and two cats. When not devouring novels by the dozens, you may find her writing, painting, crafting, or chasing her daughter around the house while making monster noises.
