Beautiful, wild-child Nicole Tepper is hit by a car and left for dead. But when she wakes the next morning, Nicole finds herself in bed without a scratch. Perhaps she was more intoxicated than usual, as her mother is giving her the silent treatment and her friends are ignoring her as well.

Things take a turn for the weird when Nicole soon discovers she is actually hovering between life and death. Her body is lying in the forest while her spirit is searching for anyone who can hear her. Unfortunately the only person who can is Dale Finnigan, the guy she publicly humiliated with a sharp-tongued insult that has left him branded.

Desperate, Nicole has no choice but to haunt Dale and convince the freaked-out senior to help her. Will he find her body before it's too late? Or will the guy who tried to kill her with his car, beat him there and finish her off before anyone finds out?

I don't remember why I signed up for this tour, what caught my attention, but I am really glad I did. This was an exceptional read. I have to say this book surprised me on a whole. It sounded intriguing, the title was interesting, the cover was OK, but the story was really great!

Nicole is a real wild child, she parties, she sleeps around, and she is part of the in crowd (the one that doesn't have real friends). One night after partying, her crap boyfriend leaves her alone out in the middle of the woods. She has to walk home, cold, drunk, mad, alone, in the dark. On her way home, stewing in her own misery, she is hit by car. The next day she finds herself not herself. No one can see her or hear her. Well except her neighbor, Dale, can hear her. With Dale's help, Nicole has to find her body and before she dies. She is someone in the middle of nowhere, cold and dying. The problem, well besides her dying, is that there is another person looking for her, the one that hit her.

From the moment I started reading, I did not want to put this book down. It had a strong hold on me from the very first sentence. I picked up and started it earlier than planned because I didn't have the book I was already reading handy. That book took second place once I started to read this book. The story is good. The main character is cliche, Dale is a little cliche, but that didn't matter to me. The writing of this book, the secrets, the mystery, the chain of events that lead Nicole to the ditch, it all intrigued me. I was completely hooked on this book.

Nicole was the typical mean girl, she hated on others, picked on others, and judged others. She drank, she slept around, she lied to her parents constantly, she also hated her life. She had tragedy strike her home and turning into this horrible person was the only way she knew how to deal with it. This gave me some hope for Nicole, knowing she wasn't always the mean girl. Dale was a super nice guy who has secrets of his own, secrets that gave him a nasty scar on his face. He is nice to Nicole, He likes Nicole, He doesn't give up on Nicole. He is that typical nice guy that is genuinely nice because he wants to be nice. He is not popular, but people like him, well except for Nicole's superficial group. He also had a tragedy and he chose to let it shape him and change him in good ways. The duo make the perfect couple! :)

The story and the characters are great, but I think that the writing is what gave it the umph for me. The characters felt real, their story, their sadness, their goodness, it all felt real to me. I was on the edge of my seat wanting Dale to find Nicole, he just had too!!! The story and the characters found a special place in my heart for sure.

I can't say it enough, superb, wonderful, awesome, great, and so much more.
