Jenn's week:

This week went pretty good on the reading front. My new position at work is going well and I love it. I am able to focus on my job and audio... so yup, I got through some good books this week. We also participated in Dewey's first reverse readathon, that went better than expected for me. I wasn't able to stay up late the so I really only read about an hour the night it started. I did manage to get up at 6am and read til 7pm. I was able to finish 6 books.  All short, but I am proud of it. I also managed to finish a puzzle while listening to audiobooks... it was missing a piece though! :( So that was a bummer.

I did manage to play some games this week and watch some shows. I am currently watching Nashville, Vampire Diaries, and So You Think You Can Dance.

Here are the games we played this week:

Speaking of board games, we decided to add some new features to our blog... you may have seen a one last week... Confession of Bibliophile. This week we will be doing Board Game Break Time and Literary Noms. So Board Game Break Time, we will feature and review a board game and Literary Noms... exactly what it sounds like... Ash will feature and review a literary recipe. Sounds fun hu, and yummy!

We have quite a few new features coming up in the next few weeks. They will not be weekly features just random. We are finding it hard to come up with topics every week for Bookish Banter, Bookworm's Wishlist and Answer Me This. So we decided to randomize it every week. So we will still have these discussion posts but we will do features as we feel them. Ash is a very random and mood drive... I am very scheduled and predictable. So I am giving her the features and I will get the scheduled memes. Nice compromise right? I think so.

So on to the next order of business.... my reads last week and hopeful this week.

Ash's week:

For the most part, it was a chill week. Last week's weekly wrap up didn't have everything that happened, so this week is a little bit of both.

So last Friday night my aunt and brother came over and we played lots of games. Then I had two of my old friends come over and we played MORE games. Then Sunday my grampa came over and I got sick. Sad.

Here are some pictures of the games we played. We played Ghosts Love Candy, Bohnanza, Flee Marketeers, and Oh Gnome You Don't.

So fast forward to this last Friday and it was Dewey's reverse 24-hour readathon.

I actually liked this readathon more, because it started at 7 PM on Friday night, instead of 7 AM on Saturday. So I was able to stay up later on Friday. I think I stayed up until about 3:30 and woke up at 7. So I only missed out on 3.5 hours. The rest of the day I listened to audiobooks while playing either coin dozer, solitaire, or bingo on my phone. Or I was reading physical books. All together I got 5 audio and 2 physical books done! I'm super proud of myself.

Here are a couple pictures from the readathon, and it includes a picture of our lunch. It's steak zucchini roll-ups. So it's steak, peppers, goat cheese, and cream cheese wrapped up in zucchini. It was AMAZEBALLS. Here is my Dewey's shirt and my coloring set up while I was listening to audio books.

This week I watched...

Blockers Poster

What I thought:
This movie had us both cracking up. It was so funny.

Starring: Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler
What it's about: A group of friends who regularly meet for game nights find themselves entangled in a real-life mystery when the shady brother of one of them is seemingly kidnapped by dangerous gangsters.

Release date: April 6th, 2018

  1. You girls are amazing! That’s more books than I manage in months! It’s been ages since I played a board game. I should remedy that.

  2. I really want to see A Quiet Place-I love the idea of that one! All Systems Red is on my list for August reading and I've read Lake Lurkers. I thought it was a decent read but that MC annoyed me! Contagion is on my wishlist.
