Retro Reboot!

After a falling out with a friend flips interior decorator Madison Night’s world inside out, she’s determined to revamp her life. Jane Strong, fellow mid-century modern enthusiast, encourages Madison’s entry in an upcoming design competition, but their rift makes collaboration no longer an option.

When Jane is found dead, Madison tops the suspect list. And when anonymous computer hackings interfere with both the investigation and the competition, Jane’s murder no longer seems random. With a mess of a love life, an angry client, and a looming deadline on her contest entry, Madison turns to an unlikely ally to decode a motive before a crash becomes imminent.

This may be the last book in the series, I am not exactly sure. I don't see any signs that there is another for an upcoming release, or plans for one in the future... but not sure that means anything. Anyways if this is the last in the series or if there is more to come, I am happy. I did adore this book just like the others and yay for the romance in this one. I would love for more to come out as I do love Madison, but I am good with the way this one ended if it is the last one. I will miss the series though. This book was just right and gave me everything I expected. Romance, mystery, fun characters, and her little dog too!

Madison Knight is in trouble again and it all started with a supposed friend. Someone she is entering a contest with... and it all goes wrong last minute. Not only is she dropped, her friend that dropped her... is dead. Yup DEAD! So of course Madison is in the deep stuff once again. She needs to figure out how the contest, a computer virus, her being dropped by a friend, and that friend who is dead, all have in common. With the help of those in her life, Tex, and the other good looking guy. Oh and of course all this happens while she is trying to make a decision on who to be with. So yes Madison is up to her neck is trouble.

This one was a fun read. I just really have enjoyed these books. Madison is a great character and I truly do love the messes she gets into.  It really does suck that all these dead bodies keep showing up though.

I think this book had more on the mystery than the romance, which I enjoyed. There was a bit of romance and what there was- whoowee. I was very happy with the romance. She finally makes a choice. Go Madison. It took her long enough.

There is a lot of layers to the mystery in this installment. I liked it much better than some of the other ones. There seemed to be a lot more going on, tons more that went into the how and why. I can say though, the reveal was a bit lackluster for me and felt a bit like a 90's slasher movie when all is revealed. But I liked the mystery up to that point. I had no clue what was going on and I liked that.

This book, just like all the ones before it, is full of laughter, great mystery, lovable characters, and just a lot of fun. If you are into cozy mysteries... pick this series up. I think you will love it.

I just loved it! But no surprise there right?

Diane Vallere
I grew up reading both Trixie Belden mysteries and Vogue magazine and learned how to spot a counterfeiting ring and accessorize a wardrobe. Now I use that knowledge to dream up plots for the humorous mysteries I write. I still love accessories, only now some of them are accessories to murder.
