Bloggy Buddies: Meet Malanie!

Introducing Bloggy Buddy where we feature the bloggy friends we love so much!

This week's bloggy buddy is Malanie. I haven't gotten to talk to her as much as I would like, but from what I have she is a very sweet person.

I love reading her reviews, they're always so spunky and full of personality.

We have been following her blog for a while now. I am not sure exactly when we started. I do love to see her reviews. She gives each one a such a unique voice. I adore her writing style and her review style. Oh and she uses GIFS. I love GIFS.

What name do you like to go by?

Welll, irl everyone calls me “Louie” and I almost named my blog “Louie Loves Fiction." But I decided my actual, technical name deserved more love considering it’s so rarely used. So I named my blog “Malanie Loves Fiction” (muh-layn-ee xD). Some of the friends I’ve met through blogging call me “Mal” which is so sweet!!

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for about a year now??? Which I can’t believe???????

What inspired you to start blogging?

I started blogging because I needed attention and validation in loving (selling my soul to, etc.) my favorite fictional characters. I needed to fangirl and cry with other humans c:

What was your first blog post?

Oh dear god, my first blog post embodies horrible blogging skills and stiff writing D: I just looked it up and it was a book review on Anaïs Nin’s “Ladders to Fire.” I love Anaïs, she’s my inspiration!! But that post was horrifying.

What are some unique features you do on your blog?

When I write book reviews, I always try to fancast the characters using GIFs. I promise I’m an original, creative person.

What was your inspiration behind your blog design and name?

My blog name took me a week to come up with, which is so embarrassing considering it’s literally just my name + “loves fiction.” For the design, I wanted a cute, flowery, handwritten aesthetic (because I’m a Slytherin)

What genres do you like to read and feature?

My favorite genre is contemporary, but I’ll read anything LGBTQ (I’m obsessed with gay romance). Classics and YA and NA books are the absolute best in the universe.

What were some of your favorite reads from last year?

Some of my favorites published in 2017: The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee; The Wicker King by K Ancrum; and Autoboyography by Christina Lauren.

Three blogs you really love?

And lastly, tell us a bit about yourself and your blog.

I’m a smol 21 yo fangirl who eats cookie dough and loves Andrew Minyard (from The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic...who is TRAGICALLY underappreciated.) My blog is a giant marshmallow of fangirling, book ranting reviews, GORGEOUS book covers, and Top Five Tuesdays. Thank you for interviewing me I had so much fun!!! c:
