Wee Reads: Audrey the Amazing Inventor

Ever since Finn was born, and even before then, we would read to him. We wanted to show him reading from an early age. Now he loves us to read the same books, over, and over, and over. But it is the sweetest thing, when he likes to pick out a book and climb into our laps.

A fun and quirky picture book featuring a feisty and inspiring female protagonist with an inventive mind and curious spirit. Showcasing lively artwork and plenty of humour, Audrey the Inventor is perfect for storytime or the classroom.

Audrey wants to be an inventor, but her inventions are not entirely successful: the egg collectors and jam dispenser are a bit messy, and her faithful pet, Happy Cat, can only watch in horror as she tries out her spring-loaded trainers. It's enough for Audrey to lose heart and give up altogether, but with some encouraging words she gives inventing one last try. Hilarious, heartfelt and utterly bonkers, Audrey the Inventor is a new heroine with plenty to say and do.

Do you like this book?
Yeah! Because I like kitties! And I want to invent too!

What's your favorite part of the book?
When all the fish fall on the kitty! And I like when there is bubbles and they wash the kitty.

What do you think of the cover?
There's a kitty. He looks so mad! And the girl has curly hair.

Do you want me to read it again?
Yeah!!!

Audrey the Amazing Inventor is an adorable book about a little girl who wants nothing more than to be an inventor. After many many mistakes, and feeling really down about failing, her daddy tells her that not everyone can do everything correctly the first time, and many great inventors failed their first time.
So she decides even though she might fail, she will keep trying.

This is such a great book about learning to be able to fail and get back up again.

The little girl is adorable, the writing is great, and I love the illustrations.

We received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
