A little Bookish Banter to get us through. Bookish Banter is a little bit of banter about our bookish thoughts as we have a friendly discussion over a nice cup of tea.
What room of the house do you keep your books in?

I keep my books basically everywhere. Literally.
I have two shelves in my room. One that just holds books, and has 5 shelves. And then I have a second shelf that is the square shelf with 9 squares, and one of them holds my leather bound, and another holds the books I'm reading for the challenge.
I have two huge bookshelves in our loft, and they're both almost full. Of course, I need more.
In the loft, I actually have books all over. Looking around right now, I have four books on the couch beside me, three on the floor in front of me, a bunch of Finn books on the coffee table and more everywhere else.
Plus I keep my kindle, blog notebook, and whatever book I'm currently reading in my purse, and I have two books in the car currently.
So... I literally have books everywhere. It's fantastic.

So I have bookshelves in my room right (three very tall ones) now and a small one in my den. Once I get all my bookshelves. I will have two in the living room, a bigger one in the den, and then the three in my bedroom. Hoping that will be enough... I do have a guest bedroom I can put a bookshelf in too if needed. I could never have enough bookshelves.
Now I have books lying everywhere. I read when I take a bath... so there are a few in my bathroom. I have a couple on my nightstand, a hardcover and kindle in my purse and I know I have at least 3 books in my car. I read multiple books at one time so unless I am reading a book I can't put down, I just leave what I am reading where I am when I leave the room. Once I enter another room I pick up a book from last time. I always have one in reach... not to mention I always have one on audio on my phone too.
Do you keep your books all in one place or do you keep books everywhere? Do you have a book room or a book house?
It's really sad, but my books have been stacked on the floor since July. In my old home, I had floor to ceiling shelves that span an entire wall. I don't have that in my new home. I had to give a ton of my books away before we moved, and I hope to find some shelving I like soon.
ReplyDeleteMost of my books are on shelves, but some of them are in my dresser drawers and in my closet. I spend all my money on books instead of clothes, so the books go where the clothes should be.

I usually have a stack of library books in the living room. My actual collection of books is in my new office area upstairs. I'm trying to cut down on the number of books I actually own.
ReplyDeleteI have six bookcases in my bedroom for books. I even ditched the chest of drawers and wardrobe years back for more bookcases! We also have 4 around the house for dvds and 4 for my dad's cds!
