Wee Reads: Those Darn Squirrels by Adam Rubin

Ever since Finn was born, and even before then, we would read to him. We wanted to show him reading from an early age. Now he loves us to read the same books, over, and over, and over. But it is the sweetest thing, when he likes to pick out a book and climb into our laps.

What Finn Reads....
Those Darn Squirrels! Those Darn Squirrels by Adam Rubin

Old Man Fookwire has a plan. He'll build some birdfeeders and fill them with yummy seeds and berries. That way, the wild birds he loves so much will stick around for the winter--instead of flying south. But there are other hungry creatures in the forest, and the have plans, too...Those darn squirrels!

What Finn Thinks...

Do you like this book?
Yeah! Because the darn squirrels were darn! And the old man got happy because they turned into birds!

What's your favorite part of the book?
Momma reads it. And it's so funny. I was laughing when the old man said he didn't like puppies. Because I like puppies! It made me feel silly!

What do you think of the cover?
I like it because of the squirrels. I want squirrels in the house.

Do you want me to read it again?
Yeah!

What Momma Thinks...
This is a really silly book. Finn was giggling the entire time and kept yelling out "Darn squirrels!" He said he really likes puppies and squirrels, but not the birds. The art is kind of funny looking, but I guess it fits the book.
