Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Oldest Series Never Finished but still on my TBR

Top Ten is an original feature/weekly meme created here at
The Artsy Reader Girl that features a great bookish top ten every week.

The top ten theme this week was the top Tuesday was the top ten oldest books on your TBR. Well when I look back at mine they are all series I have not finished... .So we changed our theme just a little and did Top Ten Oldest Series Never Finished. Some of these I have interest in finishing and may restart them one day and some I know I will one day for sure. Here is my list.

Jenn's List:

Gone (Gone, #1)  1. The Gone Series by Michael Grant-  I have read the first two books then quit. It was a great series and I loved it but the books are big and I guess that may have scared me from taking the time to finish the. I do still plan on it one day.

13 to Life (13 to Life, #1) 2. 13 To Life by Shannon Delany- I read the first book then took forever to buy the second book. I have them but it was so long in between I forgot what happened and need to re start this series. I plan to one day maybe but its not high priority. the first was okay I enjoyed it but I have so many books.

Immortal (Immortal, #1) 3. Immortal Series by Gillian Shields-  Another book series I started and then forgot about. I don't remember much of this book at all except it was different then others I had read. I rated it a 3 star. In order to finish I have to restart. Its a maybe I will one day.

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) 4. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl-  I loved the first book. Don't remember much from the second book. Need to restart the entire series and plan to on audio. (I think they are on audio) but they are long so I have put them off.

Deadly Little Secret (Touch, #1) 5. Touch series by Laurie Faria Stolarz- Okay I loved this series but lost track of it when I had to wait for the next to come out. I need to start them over but remember loving them.

Wondrous Strange (Wondrous Strange, #1) 6. Wondrous Strange series by Lesley Livingston- Another series that got away from me. Read the first book twice but its a book I enjoy but the story doesn't keep in my head. Will be a series I need to read all in a row and plan to one day.

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) 7. Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick- I read the first book and remember liking it but I am not sure why I never finished the series. I may read them one day but this is one series I'm really unsure of.

Everlost (Skinjacker, #1) 8. Skinjacker series by Neal Shusterman- I read the first one and I rated it 3 stars. I remember it was okay but never seemed to care to read the next. Maybe I will give it another shot. Not really sure.

Strange Angels (Strange Angels, #1) 9. Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow- I remember I enjoyed the first two books. Don't remember beyond that. Read the first book twice. Just another book I enjoy but don't seem to retain. I plan to restart this series and read them all in a row.

Poison Study (Study, #1) 10. The Chronicles of Ixia series by Maria V. Snyder- This series I will for sure restart and read. I remember I loved the first book but the series got lost in my TBR Pile. Will need to restart though. Don't remember much.

Ash's List:

Mine is in no order at all, and I definitely plan to restart and finish all of these. I have more, especially some that are on Jenn's list as well.

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) 1. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.
I remember when I first read this, it instantly became my favorite series. I read all the way through City of Fallen Angels and it didn't even feel like the same series anymore. So I didn't read past that. I do eventually want to start from the beginning and read the entire series this time. Hopefully I can find that same love I had it for it in the beginning.

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) 2. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
I don't remember anything about this book. I read the first one, and I own the first and second, but I haven't read the second.

Generation Dead (Generation Dead, #1) 3. Generation Dead by Daniel Waters
I read this for book club, and I loved it. I even met the author (So I have the first one signed!) And I think I might have read the second one, but I don't remember. I own all three of them and will read them again eventually.

Tantalize (Tantalize, #1) 4. Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith
I've read the first one, about three times now, and I think I finished all but the last one. But I don't remember it at all. I know I really liked this series, I got really into it the last time I started it again, so I can't wait to read this series again.

Unwind (Unwind, #1) 5. Unwind by Neal Shusterman
There was so much time between when the first one came out and the second, I never got around to reading the second (Though I own it now) So I definitely have to read the first one again.

Fallen (Fallen, #1) 6. Fallen by Lauren Kate
I think I read this one, around the same time I read Hush, Hush because they are both similar. Like Hush, Hush, I read the first one and don't remember anything about it

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) 7. The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater
I own all three, and I read the first two. But of course, don't remember anything about it.

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls, #1) 8. Gallagher Girls by Ally Carter
I wasn't really sure if I wanted to start this series again, or even finish it. I kind of lost interest. But I know I really loved it, so I decided to try again.

Eighth Grade Bites (The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, #1) 9. The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd by Heather Brewer
My ex boyfriend actually read these first, and he loved them. Which made me want to buy them when he was reading them. I read the first and never got past that. I own them all though.

Blue is for Nightmares (Blue is for Nightmares, #1) 10. Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz
I think I read all but the last one, or I read the last one too. I don't remember and for that I'm going to start it over again.

What is your Top Ten  this week??

    2. I read the first three of the touch series then had to wait for one to come out I think. Then forgot about them. Then forgot what was in them. I am making it a mission one series at a time to go back and finish them alll. Even if I have to restart. Thank goodness for audio. I may have a chance.

    1. Yes ma'am we are back with a vengeance! Generation Dead is one of those series that most people don't really know about. We read it back in book club a million years ago, and I loved it!

  3. is it terrible that I have no interest in reading any of these series? once upon a time I was quite interested in ya paranormal series but not now. I have tried the wolves of mercy falls, but couldn't get into it.

thanks for your visit, have a lovely day.

    1. Not terrible at all, everyone has books they're into. I read mostly YA, so it's easy for me. I'm not going to lie, I haven't read The Wolves of Mercy Falls in years, so I might not even be able to get back into it. But I'm hoping I can.

    2. Everyone has their books they love and not love. I may find after restarting I don’t like them as much as I did back when. I am willing to try though. We shall see.

  4. I think the problem with series is that by the time the next book comes out you've read a hundred books in between and it's hard to remember the details. And sometime everyone loves a certain series and we don't know what the hoopla is all about and think, Is it just me? :-) Thanks for visiting my blog!

    1. I definitely agree on that one. I might just start waiting until the whole series comes out, but who can wait that long?? And agree on the everyone loves a series, and you start it and you're like, why does everyone love this?? But I always give books at least one chance! Sometimes more than they really deserve. Have a good day!

    2. I completely agree with the time in between books. But I love series so I just have to wait and hope I don’t forget. Quite a few series I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. I guess it would be boring if we all loved the same though.

  8. If I had done a TTT list of my ebooks, Poison Study and Unwind would have been on it, and now I feel really bad because I realize that both of those books were recommended to me by the same blogging buddy. I should get one of them read soon. Thanks for visiting my TTT post! ☺

  13. I've seen so many good things about Maria's 'Poison' series. Makes me realize I really need to take a closer look at the series. Glad to see the Gallagher books on this list, and though I didn't read the book, I did recently see the film for Fallen. Much to my surprise, I was impressed. :)

Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland.

  14. Jenn, you've gotten further than I have - I have both the Strange Angels series and the Poison Study series in their entirety on my shelves, but I haven't read a single one of them yet!
I agree with both of you on Hush, Hush. I read the first three, but by the time the fourth one came out I couldn't remember anything that had happened. I'm planning to reread them and finish it off eventually... But that probably won't happen until I hit 40!
