The sequel—and conclusion—to Sarah Crossan's Breathe. Three teen outlaws must survive on their own in a world without air, exiled outside the glass dome that protects what's left of human civilization. Gripping action, provocative ideas, and shocking revelations in a dystopian novel that fans of Patrick Ness and Veronica Roth will devour.

Bea, Alina, and Quinn are on the run. They started a rebellion and were thrown out of the pod, the only place where there's enough oxygen to breathe. Bea has lost her family. Alina has lost her home. And Quinn has lost his privileged life. Can they survive in the perilous Outlands? Can they finish the revolution they began? Especially when a young operative from the pod's Special Forces is sent after them. Their only chance is to stand together, even when terrible circumstances force them apart. When the future of human society is in danger, these four teens must decide where their allegiances lie. Sarah Crossan has created a dangerous, and shattered society in this wrenching, thought-provoking, and unforgettable post-apocalyptic novel.

I absolutely loved Breathe and couldn't wait to dig into Resist. Breathe ended in sort of a cliffhanger and I need to continue the story asap. If the first book was any indication of the the level of enjoyment I would get from the second book, I knew I was good. The second novel didn't disappoint for me. I loved it. More action, more romance, more characters, more intense moments. It was just more.

Most of the rebellion is gone,Bea's loved ones are dead, Alina's friends are gone, Quinn lost his family. They are all desperate not knowing what lies ahead. Bea and Quinn have it in their head to start a revolution inside the POD, something Quinn somewhat already started. Alina and Silas are on their way to find another home and all of this just seems impossible. What they do find is that nothing is what it seems. Secrets, betrayals, and crazy people are everywhere.

I think I actually enjoyed this book a tiny bit more than the first. The story continues exactly where Breathe left off.  It wasn't that long ago I finished Breathe, so remembering the facts was not an issue, although I think that Sarah Crossan did an excellent job of bringing it all back without having to do a full recap.

My favorite characters are all there and I was able to connect a bit more to them. I was also introduced to a new character in the mix, Ronan. He was introduced in the first book but only with a cameo appearance. He is the son of head honcho of the pod. The one that Quinn was responsible for killing. I actually loved his character. For growing up with a drunk for a father, who was very insensitive and pretty much a jerk, Ronan is the opposite. I am not sure if he was always this way. I mean I am sure he was a spoiled brat like his sister, whom I hated with passion. Ronan was a caring person. Once he found the light, he smartened up quickly and dove head first into the idea of change. First he wanted to run and hide, survive on the outside and have no part in what the POD Ministry was doing. Bea may have had a bit to do with his inspiration of running back to the POD with a mission to destroy, but I believe it was in his heart to be a hero. I think I liked him just a bit more than Quinn but not a whole lot. Ronan and Quinn had a lot in common with coming from a privileged life and being thrown head first into the fire of war. Ronan grabbed onto change just an blink faster than Quinn but they both won my heart.

Alina was much better in this book. I think the first book she was trying to get over the shock of things not being exactly as she thought. She wasn't sure which side she needed to fight on. In this book she comes to the realization she is on the side to save herself, her friends, and humanity. Even if she has to do it by herself. She wasn't going to lie down and take it. She is less harsh in this book and more caring. It was a nice change.

Quinn really stepped up too. He started to be more man than spoiled boy and really grew into his masculinity. I really liked Quinn's part and Bea's. They work really well together and the romance continued. Unfortunately they were not together most of the book, but the power of their feelings for each wasn't absent. They never wavered on what they were fighting for and who they were fighting with. I love their sweet love.

The story was pretty awesome. More action this time and I loved it. I loved the direction the story took. Everyone was crazy except for our cast of characters. They had to fight for what was right and neither side had that going for them. They made it up as they went and made it right. The story was another quick paced read like the first book and I was able to get through it in no time at all. The ending had great resolution and I am not sure if there will be more. With the ending I would think not. Not sure where the story would go from their, but it doesn't keep me from wanting more.

Loved it just as much if not a teeny tiny more than the first. Hope their is more.
