Delightful Discoveries #10

Delightful Discoveries are books that I have discovered during the week... old, new, just released... from blogs, goodreads, friends, or bookstores.

So this week I found these goodies...

Dead RiverDead River by Cyn Balog

My friends and I are spending prom weekend at a remote wooded cabin on the Dead. The Dead River.

I thought it was going to be just us.

I was wrong.

Nothing is what it seems in this creepy paranormal thriller by Cyn Balog.

Unlucky BreakUnlucky Break by Kate Foster

Andie Powers has a one-way ticket to LA – the glamorous world of Hollywood, movie stars, palm trees and endless summer.

She’s desperate for a break after her mother’s battle with cancer and her boyfriend’s pathetic betrayal. Staying with her celebrity aunt Cece in Hollywood seems like the perfect solution. Besides, Cece won’t take no for an answer. Suddenly Andie has everything she could possibly need to be happy – a dream mansion, a new best friend, unlimited credit cards and a brand-new BMW.

But she can’t shake the feeling that this place is fake. It’s only after a chance encounter with bad-boy movie star James Hawthorn that she discovers something real.

She knows he couldn’t possibly feel the same way about her. But when everything around you is one big act, it’s hard not to get caught up in the story.

Me Before You

Me Before You by JoJo Moyes

Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.
What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.
Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.
What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.

Silver HollowSilver Hollow by Jennifer Silverwood

Amie Wentworth writes paranormal romances, not because she is looking for a degree in ectoplasm, but because she’s got bills to pay. Ever since her parents’ car crash, she has been led a reclusive life and trusted books more than people. Not even a letter from her long-lost uncle, begging her to visit, gives Amie incentive for anything other than ire – until she is stabbed in an alley and brought back to life by a mysterious stranger.
After crossing the Atlantic to her father’s homeland, Amie is dragged into the very sort of tale she is used to selling. Silver Hollow is a place of ancient traditions and supernatural dangers, where everything is the opposite of what it seems and few escape sane.

To make matters worse, the man who saved her life keeps turning up and her would-be-murderer is still at large.

But when she comes face to face with the ugly truth, will she too be sucked into her father’s madness? Or will she discover that madness is just another name for honesty?

Parasite (Parasitism, #1)Parasite by Mira Grant

A decade in the future, humanity thrives in the absence of sickness and disease.

We owe our good health to a humble parasite - a genetically engineered tapeworm developed by the pioneering SymboGen Corporation. When implanted, the tapeworm protects us from illness, boosts our immune system - even secretes designer drugs. It's been successful beyond the scientists' wildest dreams. Now, years on, almost every human being has a SymboGen tapeworm living within them.

But these parasites are getting restless. They want their own lives... and will do anything to get them.

Some good ones... there are so many out there! what have you discovered this week?
