An impossible romance.
Bitter rivalries.
Deadly choices.

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

I loved Firelight and couldn't wait to get my hands on Vanish. I picked it up as soon as I had the chance and devoured it. It was just as good as the first one if not better. Fast paced, wonderful story, action packed, and of course the perfect cast. Loved every moment of this page turner. (except for the cliffhanger at the end)

The story picks up after everything went down in the first book. Jacinda is back home and she is determined to find her way back to the boy she loves, but in order to keep herself free to live among her draki kind, she must do the unthinkable. She has a choice to make, her pride or her love for Will.

Wow and Wow and Wow. Loved it. I am not sure there is any other way to describe the way I felt during my read of this book. Sophie Jordan has a wonderful way of creating such a wonderful and lively story built with very intriguing and lovable characters.  Speaking of characters, I was able to get to know Cassian a bit better in this book and I really did fall in love with him.

Cassian turned out to be my favorite character of this book. He started off very iffy for me, but the more I got to know him, the more he grew on me. Cassian is nothing like his father, he is loyal to the draki family and gives his all to the pride. He wants to be with Jacinda, for the good of the pride and because he cares for her. He is not willing to push her into anything and respects her feelings... even if they are for a human. Yes he turned out to be such a softy. Jacinda is still the same... amazing. I love her loyalty I love her strength, and I love her bravery.

Many many things happen in this book. Lots of OMG moments and lots of HUH moments. Very fast paced and a very quick read. I love the story and the writing style makes it all the better. A very modern fantasy with bunches of action, love, and thrilling moments.

Loved it! One of my favorite series. Pick it up and check it out if you haven't yet.

  2. Glad to hear you love this book! I have both Firelight and Vanish on my shelf, but for once, I made myself wait until a series was complete before starting it. Now I just need to pick up a copy of that final book. :P
