It started with a bus crash.
Daisy Appleby was a little girl when it happened, and she barely remembers the accident or being brought back to life. At that moment, though, she became one of the first subjects in a covert government program that tests a drug called Revive.
Now fifteen, Daisy has died and been Revived five times. Each death means a new name, a new city, a new identity. The only constant in Daisy's life is constant change.
Then Daisy meets Matt and Audrey McKean, charismatic siblings who quickly become her first real friends. But if she's ever to have a normal life, Daisy must escape from an experiment that's much larger--and more sinister--than she ever imagined.
From its striking first chapter to its emotionally charged ending, Cat Patrick's Revived is a riveting story about what happens when life and death collide.

I really loved Forgotten and thought I would try the next book by Cat Patrick. I was thrilled to finally get my hands on Revived and was not dissapointed. I loved this book. The plot was just amazing, the writing style right up my alley, pretty fast paced and very character driven, and I loved the characters. I was amazed on how much this book made me think about the gray areas of life, its not always black and white and should it be. Mixed with real life issues, sci-fi, mystery, and bit of suspense. A great read.

Daisy died when she was a little girl, 4 years old, on a bus crash. She was revived by a government agency with a drug called Revive. Ever since that day she has been living a lie of who she is. She lives with an agent that poses as her father an agent as a mother. Everytime she dies and she is brought back to live they have to move.. new last name, new house, new school, and new friends. In her most recent town she meets Audrey and Matt. Daisy grows very close to Audrey and Matt and finds out that being close to someone can bring so much joy but also can bring so much sorrow. She must decide how close to become, how far to take the relationships, and how much she can really trust her new friends, and throughout her journey she discovers a world of secrets behind the life she has been living.

Really great book. I enjoyed it from the very beginning and found the entire plot to be riveting. I was surprised on how much the book changed throughout my read. It starts off sci-fi- then tends to lean towards realistic fiction- then ends up a suspenseful mystery. It really had so much and Cat Patrick really made it work. It all blend perfectly into a wonderful tale of a brave girl who leads a not so normal life. Fast paced and lots of surprises. I could see some coming but still had moments of my hand shooting to my lips in shock.

I enjoyed the main character very much. I think she is one of my favorite characters of this year. She has been through a lot and she has a real heart of gold. She’s never been close to anyone besides her make believe father figure and when she is approached by an energetic, cheery girl at school, she jumps into the friendship headfirst. She quickly becomes very close to Audrey and her brother and it really does change her world. She is finally able to find out what exactly she is made of. She puts her heart all in. I also fell in love with Daisy’s father figure. Agent turned father in a matter of minutes… he took on the role and made the best of it. I could see in all his actions how much he really cared for Daisy. Awesome dude! Oh and pretty tough and smart too. Audrey was wonderful.. can’t say anything negative about her. She is just wonderful, Matt too. A great set of characters who mesh so wonderfully.

The characters definitely made the story… but the plot was magnificent. I really liked the idea about the drug that can revive. I feel there was a lot of thought behind this plot.. to make it realistic and on the edge of should or shouldn’t this be available and when is it right to use. Who gets to decide who lives and who dies. I love a good thought provoking book and this book was for sure that.. Add in the strong emotional issues, the great relationships of family, friendship and love.. and you have the entire package.

A wonderful read. I would recommend this book for anyone who loves a great sci-fi with more of a realistic fiction feel to it.

  1. This sounds like my type of book. And I like that cover. Makes me want to open the book up so I can figure out what's behind that blue screen thing.
