Review:

I really didn’t know what to expect when I picked up Monster High. It sounded fun but I was not sure if it would fun and light or dark and dreamy or funny and cute. This book had a little of it all. (a little more fun and light then dark and dreamy) I found it in the YA books, but I would say it’s more for the younger teen crowd, although I enjoyed and some older teens may. The books are very clean and very fun.

The book is centered around a two main characters. We have Melody who is a human and Frankie who is a monster. Melody moves into a town where the majority of her neighborhood are monsters, classic monsters. While Melody is trying to get used to the move, new house, and new school, Frankie is in another house just waking up from being created. Frankie does not want to hide. She wants to go to high school and make friends, live a normal life. Frankie’s parents reluctanltly approve and this is where the two lives collide.

I can’t help but love every character in these books. I love their personalities and their names. All the monsters are classic monsters who have names that pretty much told me who they are. There is Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo De Nile, Draculaura, Lagoona Blue, and many more. I would not be able to name my favorite character. They are all so fun and quirky.

The book has a real feel good vibe about the book. It’s about fitting in, believing in yourself, and accepting others, but with the humor, mystery, and thrills of High School Monsters. This is going to be a series to keep on my shelves.
