People might be excited about a book now, but in 6 months, they’ll say, “I remember nothing about that book except for the hype.” I’m more likely to buy a book if people have been talking about it for years.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
Aj @ Read All The Things!https://www.blogger.com/profile/02860483414620371093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076578325932191793.post-58090203454297036322019-05-08T21:15:05.736-05:002019-05-08T21:15:05.736-05:00I'm definitely wary of hyped books. But on the other hand it's hard not to get swept up in the hype at times!Tammy Sparkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07399852378701581588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076578325932191793.post-64147092980566795442019-05-08T19:08:58.632-05:002019-05-08T19:08:58.632-05:00I fee like too much hype makes me want to read a b...I fee like too much hype makes me want to read a book less! IDK, maybe there is a bit of rebel in me that doesn't want to read what everyone else is reading. And more often than not, I end up disliking hyped books - Six of Crows, Red Rising, things like that.Angelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16746631124966726182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076578325932191793.post-88502425340831303752019-05-08T11:48:50.251-05:002019-05-08T11:48:50.251-05:00Most of the time, if a book has a lot of hype, tha...Most of the time, if a book has a lot of hype, that means people like it, and I probably will too. At the same time, it partially depends on the book's subject or even the source of the hype. Some hype is generated primarily by publishers spending a lot of money on it, which doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Some books might be hyped, but the subject really isn't something that interests you.

It's kinda fun to read 1-star reviews of your favorite books. Just shows you not everybody likes everything.Brooke Lorrenhttp://www.brookereviewsnsweeps.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076578325932191793.post-88543783033659525272019-05-08T10:33:27.047-05:002019-05-08T10:33:27.047-05:00I always avoid hyped books until 5 years later bec...I always avoid hyped books until 5 years later because of these reasons.Deanna Reads Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01823538052624209201noreply@blogger.com
